Cancer is one of the most dreadful diseases and one of the top reasons of deaths around the world. 1. Sweetened Beverages
Beverages like juices, soft drinks, and like that are loaded with refined sugar have high glycemic load. These sweetened beverages can be the preferred source of energy for carcinogens and can help promote formation or growth of tumor in the body. Therefore, excessive intake of sugar-sweetened beverages can put you at increased risk of cancer.
2. Fried Foods
Potato wafers, French fries, and numerous other junk foods contain trans fat, i.e., unhealthy hydrogenated oils. Consuming fried foods on a regular basis can increase your LDL cholesterol levels and block arteries. In addition to this, fried foods contain acrylamide which is a neurotoxin and carcinogen and increases your risk of contracting cnacer.
3. Excessive Alcohol
Excessive consumption of alcohol can put you at risk to different types of cancers, including cancer of liver, colon, mouth, esophagus, etc.
4. Charred Meats
Charred meats, when cooked at high temperatures, produce carcinogens which when consumed can put you at risk of cancer.
5. Snack Foods
It’s good to snack, but foods like cookies, crackers, chips, cupcakes, etc. are considered to be unhealthy and should be avoided. These foods contain trans fat and put you at increased risk of cancer.
6. Cured Meats
Lunch meats, sausages, bacons, hot dogs and other processed meats contain carcinogen called nitratosamine, which increases your chances of developing cancer. These should be avoided.
Firstly, doughnuts are made out of sugar, white flour, and hydrogenated oils. Secondly, these are deep-fried at high temperatures. Dense sugar and high-fat content when processed at high temperatures combine to produce carcinogenic byproducts, which can increase your risk of developing cancer.
8. Pickled Foods
Foods heavy in salts can be a reason of stomach cancer. Such foods include pickled vegetables, eggs, fish, meats, etc., and these should be avoided.
9. Farmed Fish
Farmed fish, generally, contains high levels of toxins and carcinogens like polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). These are a category of chemicals that was once used to insulate materials. One should avoid farmed fish to avoid any risk of developing cancer.
10. Red Meat
Research has proved that people who consume red meat on a regular basis are three times at risk of developing colon cancer as compared to those who consume it occasionally. Therefore, it is suggested to avoid red meat on a regular basis to stay away from any chances of cancer.
