CLEVELAND – NewsChannel5 at Noon had an exclusive interview with Yvonne Pointer Wednesday.
The mother was scheduled to appear to speak to Leon Bibb – a friend for 30 years – about her foundation in her slain daughter’s name.
But moments before she took her seat in our studio, prosecutors announced new charges against the suspect in her daughter’s 1984 killing – charges that make him eligible for the death penalty.
The suspect, Hernandez Warren, is awaiting trial in jail on a $5 million bond.
The Gloria Pointer Foundation will host an event beginning this week called A Celebration of Hope. The campaign includes an improv comedy show, fundraisers and special events for children affected by violence.
