If you have not seen the ALS Ice Challenge take over social media, then, where have you been? Celebrities and everyday people have taken the challenge of dumping a bucket full of water and ice over their heads to bring awareness to ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Unfortunately, co- founder of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and philanthropist, Corey Griffin died on August 16th at the age of 27.
He helped co-found the challenge to raise money to fight amyotrophic lateral sclerosis after his friend, Pete Frates was diagnosed. Griffin drowned off the coast of Nantucket, Massachusetts, in a diving accident. It is reported that he raised $100,000 for ALS earlier in the day of his death. Life comes at you fast, he certainly made a great impact during the time he was here. Prayers go out to his friends and family.
I took the challenge. You can see the video on our Magic 106.3 Facebook page and @magic1063 on Instagram. I made a donation as well.
