One person is dead after a shooting outside the departure area of the Port Columbus Airport according to WBNS. A Columbus Police officer shot and killed the suspect. The initial report states that no officers were shot or injured in the incident.
The departure drop off area at Port Columbus has been shut down until further notice, however airport officials say flights and operations are running as scheduled.
UPDATE (2:31pm): Columbus police are reporting that the suspect was seen in the lobby/ticketing area before the incident. A fight ooccurred between a tow truck driver and an unnamed person over a vehicle just before the shooting. A call for an officer in trouble was made before the shooting occurred. Police plan on reviewing surveillance tape in hope of find out more about what happened.
If you need to park at the airport please do so in the short term parking lot due to area closures.
