Ever since the reality series “Sorority Sisters” made its debut on VH1, the show has sparked a lot of controversy within the Black community and many advertisers decided to pull their ads from the program due to the portrayal of “greek life” on the show. Consequently, Delta Sigma Theta sorority reportedly expelled five members that are on the show: Shanna McCormick, Adrene Ashford, Lydia Mitchell,Priyanka Banks, and MeToya Monroe are all banned from attending and participating in any events that are associated with the sorority and they are forbidden from wearing or using any items that references Delta Sigma Theta. Last year, two cast members of the show who were apart of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority were suspended from the organization.
