U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-Kentucky) announced months ago that he will run for President of the United States of America. Senator Paul embarked on a Criminal Justice Reform Tour two years ago making stops at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU).

Will the nation ‘Stand With Rand’ on criminal justice reform? Will the nation except a republican tackling the issue of disenfranchising voters with the majority being black? Will the nation except a republican stance on a ‘second chance’ for ex-offenders and life after incarceration? Will the  nation accept the fact that, a republican, Senator Paul co-sponsored the Redeem Act with other democrats?

Will the nation accept that all citizens should vote the issues and not a particular party?

Criminal Justice Reform has been a passion of mine since my days as a student at Virginia Union University. How do we support the so-called least of them after a challenged background? If you have served your time and paid your fines you should not get convicted over and over for that offense. It is a challenge for ex-offenders to apply and receive social assistance, housing and employment because of a criminal background.

Community Clovia and Senator Paul discuss Criminal Justice Reform, the Redeem Act, Expungements, Reset bill, Bill of Rights, Civil Forfeiture and more. Play audio here…
