According to the Census, Columbus is ranked the 13th fastest growing city in the United States

According to ColumbusUnderground.com

Columbus is growing. Quickly.

The US Census Bureau released initial estimates for the period running between July 2013 and July 2014 earlier this year, which showed the Columbus Metropolitan Area gaining 25,504 people and Franklin County gaining 17,559 people. Updated numbers released today for that same time period show the City of Columbus proper gaining 12,421 people, making it the 13th fastest growing city in the US.

The designation is unique, as all other cities in the Top 15 are located either in the South or West parts of the country, mostly in Texas and California. Columbus is the lone Midwestern city in the list, and New York City (which gained 52,700 people) is the only Northeastern city in the list.
