Sorry ladies it isn’t the rumored Idris Elba…. I know I know but we are just happy to announce that the first black man to play James Bond is David Oyelowo. But there’s some what of a catch… it’s not a movie, it’s a book on tape. According to The Guardian, Oyelowo is voicing Agent 007 in a new audiobook titled “Trigger Mortis,” set to debut September 8th.
“[I’m] very honored”, Oyelowo said: “I am officially the only person on planet Earth who can legitimately say: ‘I am the new James Bond’ – even saying that name is the cinematic equivalent of doing the ‘to be or not to be’ speech.”
Maybe this role will lead to the silverscreen James Bond for Oyelowo
