Police believe a driver might have ran a red light after smashing into a tanker truck. The truck was carrying nitrogen gas which leaked out after the crash happened. Hazmat crews were able to contain the leak and don’t have any environmental safety concerns.
The driver of the tanker truck wasn’t injured.
Parts of East 5th Avenue and Leonard Avenue are shut down. Woodland Southbound from Woodward is closed as well as 5th and Taylor.
While the accident remains under investigation police believe alcohol could’ve played a role in the crash.
