I agree, our students need more instructional time for communication skills, problem-solving skills, creative writing, the arts, field trips, and the like.

President Barack Obama and Education Secretary Arne Duncan are on schedule to meet with educators today about reducing the number of standardized testing. Obama and Duncan have developed a plan to limit the amount of time students spend taking the tests. President Obama wants to keep standardized testing at no more than two-percent of instructional time in the classroom. President is making this measure a necessity and will ask Congress to enact the limit into law.
