The International Olympic Committee agreed to add Baseball, Softball, Karate, Skateboarding, Sports Climbing and Surfing to its Tokyo 2020 list of Summer games. This decision comes after a long 2 year submission, deliberation and vote. This is expected to bring more appeal to the Olympic games appealing to younger audiences and widening the Olympic scope. This will add 18 events and 474 athletes eligible to compete on the largest scale in the world. There is some skepticism for U.S. MLB players availability to play because of the length and time of the season here in the states.
