Today is Rosa Parks Day. The civil rights icon is honored annually on December 1st. It was on this day back in 1955 that Rosa Parks was arrested for refusing to give up her bus seat to a white passenger, kicking off the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Rosa Parks has been called “the first lady of civil rights,” and “the mother of the freedom movement.”
