Chicago native Sandra Bland would’ve been 30 years old yesterday. Bland was pulled over in 2015 in Texas while traveling to a job at Prairie View A&M and was taken into police custody for “failing to use (her) turn signal”. This was one of the first of MANY police/civilian incidents that sparked protests throughout the nation between 2015-2016. Shaun King revealed this morning that January 2017 has been the worse month for police brutality since 2015. Many celebrities have used social media to celebrate Sandra Bland.
