Can a rivalry make the MLS want to keep the Crew here?
According to NBC4, Major League Soccer will welcome the FC Cincinnati into the league as an expansion team.
Some think having a rival can help MLS decide to keep the Columbus Crew in the city.
“Having a rival just under two hours away in Ohio is going to be a big deal,” said Save the Crew spokesman David Miller. “With a rivalry comes a tremendous amount of hype, tremendous amount of ratings, tremendous amount of money, and if MLS is seeking to grow as a league they can’t push that aside,” said Miller.
