According to reports, a gunman entered the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, PA Saturday morning and opened fire. Reports also say that several people, including three police officers, were hit with bullets and sadly, at this point, four people have been reported to have lost their lives. The gunman was said to have surrendered to police and is in custody. Here is an update from CNN.com
“The suspected gunman who carried out a deadly shooting Saturday at a Pittsburgh synagogue has been identified as Robert Bowers, 46, according to law enforcement officials.
A law enforcement official previously told CNN the shooter made anti-Semitic statements during the shooting.”
This concludes a very disturbing week in our country where earlier in the week several packages carrying explosives were sent to prominent Democratic party figures and outspoken critics of President Donald Trump. A suspect has been apprehended in that case as well.
As we head into the midterm elections on November 6th the country seems to be more divided than ever on gender, racial, economic, religious, and party lines.
