You remember when Michael Jackson Died, his estate made a fortune because of the new wave of renewed interest in his music catalogue. MJ actually made more money dead than he did in his last years alive.

Now everyone is hitting the record stores and iTunes to buy up all of Whitney Houstons greatest hits, but her estate will not be making millions like Micheal.

“She was broke — her label gave her advances,” a record company insider told me. “And unlike Michael, you have to remember that Whitney didn’t write any of those massive hits. They were songs that Clive Davis told her to sing and she did.”

Actually some people you would expect will be reaping the huge benefits of Whitney’s death. Guess who it is?

One of Houston’s biggest hits, “I Will Always Love You,” was actually written by Dolly Parton, who will receive the writer’s and publisher’s rates when the song undoubtedly gets a boost in radio and television performances.
