Marion law enforcement officials arrested 10 people on Friday during an effort to be proactive about drugs in the county.
The MARMET/METRICH Drug Task Force conducted “Operation Summer Heat” with the assistance of officers from the Marion City Police Department, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Marion County Probation and Marion City Probation, according to a release.
Officials said the purpose of the operation was to be proactive in serving arrest warrants and to work drug locations known to task force members.
The following people were arrested as part of the operation:
James C Prude, 43, possession of crack
Chancey McMahon, 22, probation violation
Keshia Young, 24, warrant
Derrick Darling, 33, warrant
William Dunn Jr, 23, warrant for breaking and entering
Keith Washington, 51, possession of crack
Dontaze Mosley, 25, fugitive from justice, warrant from West Va.
Michael O’Bryant, 29, tampering with evidence and possession of heroin
Derrick Jefferson, 45, felony fleeing
One juvenile also was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and tampering with evidence.
