// ]]>A man was recently banned from the Tuttle Swimming Pool after he was allegedly caught videotaping people in their swimsuits.
Columbus police say the man was allegedly caught videotaping people from his vehicle in the parking lot of the pool, which is located at 240 Oakland Avenue. The back windows of the vehicle had been covered with a black, plastic bag, according to pool officials.
A resource officer at the pool noticed the man and chased him away. He also told the man not to return.
Other suspicious behavior around children at public pools and other public places has led to new laws.
Between 2008 and 2011, Alan Patton was accused of collecting children’s urine from public places such as pools, sports complexes and fast food restaurants, and drinking it. His actions inspired a law that now makes it illegal to collect a bodily substance of another person a crime unless the collector has been given permission.
Parents at the pool say they are going to be paying even more attention.
“[I say] check in with me. Rest breaks, they come in and check with me, we eat together, we talked about stranger danger,” said Gi Gi Millington, who says she brings her grandchildren to the Tuttle pool. SEE VIDEO HERE
