Local film, Contrast, is a modern-day variation on the story of Cain and Abel and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, in which society and times add a slight twist. The first screening sold out on June 19th, so there will be an encore show on June 29th, 7pm at Drexel Theaters.

Filmmakers, Alonzo & Aqua moved back to Columbus in 2011 and have since completed their feature-length film titled : ‘Doc’ Crow : The Legend of Johnny 2-Strings (Recent selection of 2014 Langston Hughes African-American Film Festival in Seattle and the 2014 San Francisco Black Film Festival) , a Mockumentary and screened at the DREXEL Theater to sold out crow in August 2013 and the GATEWAY Theater in September 2013. (WSYX’s Yolanda Harris makes her film debut in this film.)  This project has a soundtrack of 16 ORIGINAL songs.

Synopsis:  ‘Doc’ Crow, a legendary blues man who, at the height of his touring career on the famed Chitlin’ Circuit, vanished without a trace.  A trunk of his materials resurfaces in the basement of an abandoned building in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina, bringing the question, who is ‘Doc’ Crow?  This ‘Doc’ umentary answers that question! This indie film is being called Menace II Society meets Pulp Fiction’s Jules & Vincent. Take a look at a clip from the movie below:
