The Tom Joyner Morning Show is on the road this week. If anyone understands that life, it’s Charlie Wilson. Before his success as a solo artist in the last decade, he traveled for years as the leader of The Gap Band.
Wilson is working on a new album, a new book, and doing shows in the meantime, so he’s staying busy. But according the the TJMS, he’s also developing a reputation as an Usher-killer, after his stellar performance at the Essence Festival this year.
So is it just a coincidence that Wilson’s latest release is called “Goodnight Kisses” and Usher’s new single is called “Good Kisser?”
“I have no beef with Usher,” Wilson says. “In fact, I admire the young man. As long as he comes on after me.”
