This huge project is going to give some buildings downtown a much-needed makeover.  According to The Dispatch, along the Scioto River, there is no better sign that the economic times are good than the changing face of the government campus.

The city has poured about $149 million into renovations and improvements Downtown over the past four years as part of its aggressive, $3 billion capital spending plan.

About $63 million has been spent over that time redoing City Hall, the public-safety building and police headquarters.

A portion of those renovations include a new office for Mayor Michael B. Coleman at a cost of about $850,000, with $250,000 of that to remake his personal office. The rest went toward upgrading Coleman’s deputy chief of staff’s office, a shared office, a lobby, a conference room and a mailroom.
