Who’s tired of seeing orange barrels and cones? **raises hand** Well, get ready to see more. Fox 28 reports, before the new downtown exit via Mound St. opens this Saturday, weather permitting, traffic will be impacted.
Here’s how:
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 7
At 8 p.m., I-70 west will be reduced to one lane between US 33 and Fourth Street. The following entrance ramps to I-70 west will close:
– US 33
– Livingston Ave.
– Alum Creek
– Miller-Kelton
The detour is I-70 east to I-270 north to I-670 west to I-70 west.
The exit ramp from I-70 west to Fourth Street will also close permanently at 8 p.m.
At 9 p.m., I-70 west will close completely between US 33 and Fourth Street. The detour is I-270 north to I-670 west to I-70 west.
At 10 p.m., the ramp from I-70 west to I-71 north will close. The detour is I-270 north to I-670 west to I-70 west.
By noon Saturday, weather permitting, the new exit to “downtown” via Mound Street will be open as well as the ramps from US 33, Livingston, Alum Creek and Miller Kelton, and all lanes of I-70 west.
