A St. Petersburg, Florida father has been charged with first-degree murder, aggravated fleeing and eluding, and aggravated assault with a motor vehicle on a law enforcement officer after tossing his 5 year old daughter over a bridge into water.

25-year-old John Jonchuck Jr. zoomed past a police officer ,going approximately 100 miles per hour, who was headed home eventually stopping on the Dick Misener Bridge.  The police officer approached him and witnessed him taking his daughter, Phoebe Jonchuck, and throwing her over the bridge into the water.  As Johnchuck drove away he police officer went down the ladder of the bridge trying to find Phoebe to no success.  A search and rescue team was called in to help locate the child.  She was found 1 mile downstream  and rushed to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.  Jonchuck had custody of his daughter and had prior legal problems with domestic violence.  Johnschuck was pulled over and refused to talk about what happened.
