Don’t you just love IKEA? Well, unfortunately, they are recalling 169,000 VYSSA crib mattresses due to a risk of entrapment. They are under the following model names: VACKERT, VINKA, SPELEVINK, SLÖA and SLUMMER. The mattresses were manufactured on May 4, 2014 or earlier. An identification label attached to the mattress cover has the date of manufacture in Month-DD-YYYY format and the VYSSA model name.
The gap between the mattresses and crib ends are larger than allowed by federal regulations, putting babies at risk of getting stuck in the gap.
Mattress/crib end gaps should be no larger than the width of two fingers.
If you have purchased one of the affected mattresses, stop using it immediately and return it to IKEA for an exchange or full refund.
