According to 10TV, Columbus Police are searching for a man they believe is on a robbery spree in east Columbus, targeting gas stations.

Officers say the first store robbed was the True North Shell station on East Main Street around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday morning. The female clerk says he acted like he was making a purchase, then ran around the counter, demanding money from her.

The clerk also said the suspect implied he had a weapon and threatened to kill her. She complied and the suspect then fled the store with some cash.

Police believe the same suspect robbed the Thortons gas station on Alum Creek Drive around 4:45 a.m.

Officers say the suspect in this robbery also acted as if he were going to make a purchase, then rushed behind the counter and demanded cash from the clerk. The employee opened the register, and the suspect filled his pockets with approximately $275 in cash before taking off on foot.
