Uh oh, you may just get a chance to be seen under the bright lights! According to The Columbus Dispatch, actor John Travolta is to be in Columbus soon to film an action thriller, and Mayor Michael B. Coleman hopes the filming will help draw more movie business to town.

Patriot Pictures’ I Am Wrath is to begin filming in mid-March, said Richard Salvatore, one of the producers. He and several crew members are here preparing for the shoot.

John Daugherty, interim executive director of the Greater Columbus Film Commission, said he was first contacted by movie officials on Jan. 20 — so the courtship was lightning-fast.

Salvatore and others visited Columbus to meet with Coleman and other city officials during the last week of January. The filming should take two to three weeks, Salvatore said, and it will be done entirely in Columbus, at Downtown sites including the Statehouse, and in German Village and on the Ohio State University campus.
