Bobbi Kristina Brown’s grandmother, Cissy Houston, is clarifying earlier comments made by Bobby Brown about the current state of his daughter.

The R&B singer, 46, told a crowd at a concert in Dallas on Saturday that Bobbi was “awake” and “watching” him perform. On Monday, Houston weighed in on the 22-year-old’s current condition.

“I have just returned from visiting my granddaughter Bobbi Kristina in the hospital and while she is no longer in a medically induced coma she has a tracheotomy and according to the doctors she has global and irreversible brain damage and remains unresponsive We are meeting with the doctors and understanding that she can live in this condition for a lifetime truly saddens me. We can only trust in God for a miracle at this time. Keep us in your prayers.

The 22-year-old daughter of Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston remains in the same neurological state that she has been in for over 12 weeks.  Meanwhile in a statement Monday, an attorney for the Brown family said Bobbi Kristina Brown’s condition has improved, but that the kind of life she will lead remains to be seen.

“Doctors have indicated that she will have a long life,” attorney Christopher Brown said. “However, Bobbi Kristina is presently embarking on a rehabilitation process and the quality of her life will not be known for years to come.”

Bobby Brown was in an “emotional state” on stage when he made the remarks about his daughter being awake, according to the statement.
