According to Fox 28, some parents are angry about a toy included in Happy Meals from McDonald’s. McDonald’s is selling toys promoting the movie “Minions”. Some parents say the toy curses.

“I heard what it said and I’m like, ‘whoa, hang on here,'” said Taylor King, who bought a Happy Meal for his three-year-old son Monday. “It clearly says what it says.” He thinks it says “WTF” — only not abbreviated.

“As soon as we heard it, her mom took it away,” said Robert Frazier, another father who bought several for his three young children. “I listened to it and that’s when we found out that’s what it was saying.”

McDonald’s said the toy does not curse. It says minions speak “Minionese,” which is a language made up of random nonsense words and phrases. It said any words it may sound like is just a coincidence.

We asked people on the street what they thought the toy was saying. “Unless I was looking for it, I probably would not think much about it,” said Jerry Gerken. “Now that I’m looking for it, it does sound like ‘WTF’.”

“I heard a bop, bop, bop,” said Doug Hermanson. “That’s all I heard, which seems completely innocent.” “I definitely heard it,” said Allison Hayes. “I think it was more in my head really.”

“It’s a minion,” said Nick Murnan. “That’s probably the sound they would make.” Still, those fathers want McDonald’s to stop giving the toy to kids.

“(My kids) are old enough now where they’re going to mock anything they hear from a toy,” King said. “It’s coming from a toy. They’re going to assume it’s okay to say that.”
