My bucket list officially has one less item on it after seeing Patti LaBelle at the Celeste Center (The Ohio State Fairgrounds) on Friday night. Ms. Patti looked amazing in a red fringe, above that knee dress and closed the show in a gold similar style dress.
Now, let me just say this…her legs were killer and she looked amazing for a woman who is 71 years old. When she opened her mouth, it was if she was still rocking that big hair and those eccentric outfits from the 80’s…in other words, she sound incredible. Her stage was set with luggage along with some sassy high heels to round out the decor. Oh and periodically, she whipped out her hand mirror to make sure her hair and make up were still on point. The show was full of energy and engaging. She even had audience participation, where she called for a few people to came on stage to sing and dance for her. For those who were there, the guy from Pittsburgh stole the show!
I had the pleasure of enjoying the experience with my mom, who was in town from New Jersey. There were so many other mothers and daughters at the show, it was a family affair. It was truly a night to remember!
If you ever get a chance to see her in concert, don’t hesitate and make sure you get good seats. She told Columbus that she will be back and I will be in the audience. Below are some video snippets from the show. Enjoy!
