To all my fellow ladies who have just about everything they want except a husband and baby in tow, you must check out The Perfect Guy. Leah Vaughn (Sanaa Lathan) is a lobbyist with a dope house, good friends and a great guy…who just so happens to not be ready for marriage and kids. After 2 years of dating Dave (Morris Chestnut,) Leah decides that she can no longer wait for him to take things to the next level and breaks things off. A few months later, Carter Duncan (Michael Ealy) enters Leah’s life and course, he is everything she wants…and more. Just when Leah starts to believe that Carter could be the one, his true colors come to light and “the perfect guy’ turns out to be her worst nightmare. This movie will totally open your eyes to how life comes at your fast and can go from 0-100 real quick.

As a 30 something female who desires to be married and have a family, this movie really made me think about how complicated it can be dating these days. I have had thoughts about my biological clock ticking, not wanting to waste time in a relationship where a man is not ready for marriage and kids and the unknown when it comes to taking a risk on someone new. I also realize that there is no such thing as “the perfect guy.” I do believe that you must have faith that the man you want is out there and will find you. First, a woman should know her value, then be willing to deal with whatever she signs up for in a relationship. Love is truly a risk, but its worth it when its right!

I give this movie a 5 out of 5. The Perfect Guy will either be a reality check, wake up call or confirmation for people on the dating scene.
