Sometimes even when taking the high road, you can’t resist the urge to throw a little well-placed shade at your enemies. Vivica A. Fox knows exactly how that feels because today she once again put her former reality show co-star and ongoing nemesis, Kenya Moore, in her place with some juicy shade.
While visiting The Wendy Williams Show this morning to promote her upcoming film Independence Day: Resurgence (she returns for the 1996 film’s sequel and co-starred in the original as Will Smith’s love interest) host Wendy Williams turned the conversation to Fox’s recurring role on the FOX hit series Empire as Cookie Lyon’s older sister Candace and asked her how she got the role. Let’s just say things got pretty shady after that.
Fox stated that Empire creator Lee Daniels watched her memorable boardroom showdown with “toxic trick” (Fox slyly omitted saying Kenya Moore’s name) while the two were competing on Celebrity Apprentice that convinced him he had to have her on the show. She goes on to say that Daniels kept his word and a mere three months later he called her and asked if she wanted the role of Candace.
Known to never miss an opportunity to engage in shade and messiness, Wendy Williams further probed Fox about her time with Moore by asking her if she had spoken to Moore since filming for the show wrapped. Fox replied with classy shade and said, “No I haven’t seen her [since the finale], I’m too busy having a legitimate career…and making sure people get paid.”
The claws are definitely still out and you can bet that Kenya Moore will have a response that is filled with a hefty amount of shade of her own.
