Two sheriff’s deputies were shot and killed at a courthouse in St. Joseph in southwest Michigan. The suspect in the shooting was also killed, Berrien County Sheriff Paul Bailey told reporters at a news conference.

” (MSP) Michigan State Police have secured the scene at the Berrien County courthouse and started its investigation into the shooting that occurred this afternoon,”  Governor Rick Snyder said in a Tweet.

Chris Gautz, public information officer for the Michigan Department of Corrections, tweeted that all Department of Corrections staff are safe and accounted for.

Witness, Gretta Volkenstein, told CNN that the buildings were on lock down. Stay updated with Magic 95.5 WXMG for more details.
