There are calls for a later start to the school year in the Buckeye State. A bill introduced in the state Senate would prevent school districts from opening until after Labor Day. Supporters say students are unable to learn when they go to classes in 90-degree temperatures, in schools, with no air conditioning. Critics say the school calendar should be left to local districts.
