The tennis legend said Serena Williams is the best female but would rank “700” if she was a guy.

You can’t lie when it comes to Serena Williams. She is the best female tennis player to swing a racket. Tennis legend John McEnroe will also agree with that fact.
However, in a recent interview, he put a pause on calling the tennis queen the best in the world, period. LuLu Garcia-Navarro from NPR sat down for an interview, she asked McEnroe if she is the best female tennis star why can’t we say “best in the world?”
“Oh! Uh, she’s not, you mean, the best player in the world, period,” said McEnroe. “If she played the men’s circuit she’d be like 700 in the world.”
McEnroe went on to say he based his opinion on the fact she would not be able to dominate a male circuit with Roger Federer, who he believes is the best male tennis player at this moment.
