Netflix has lined up an eight episode hip-hop documentary series featuring artists such as Nas, Logic, 2 Chainz, and more. The series will focus on the personal and professional lives of the featured rappers. Sacha Jenkins, the executive producer, and T.I., another featured rapper, went into some detail this past week at SXSW about what viewers can expect to see. It will detail their personal lives growing up in the trap, how hip hop was in the past, how hip hop is changing today, and more.

“If a new rapper say stuff … disrespecting Biggie and Pac, that just says it came too easy for you … you a ‘YouTube baby'” says Clifford Harris, better known as rapper T.I. This quote gives us some information. We know that the series will focus and detail on what most consider real hip-hop, and will not be touching on “pop rap” or the “SoundCloud wave.” Check out the documentary trailer below and let us know what you think.
