Since the death of Craig Mack, more information has surfaced as into why he joined that religious cult some years before he passed away, Apparently, he was very close to killing someone and was looking for some spiritual guidance.

According to new footage, back in 2011, the rapper was close to taking someones life. Mack said in the footage, “I had a gun in my lap and I’m sitting there talking to God, saying like, ‘I don’t want to do this, but if it comes to getting ugly with somebody going to try to kill me, I’m going to have to do something first to prevent that.”

While deciding what to do, he turned on the radio in his car and discovered Preacher Ralph Gordon Stair.

Mack says,

I knew that it was God talking to me because of the way it made me feel emotionally. I broke down crying all over the place in the car: ‘I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry I was thinking about trying to do this to somebody. It was really in my heart to kill him. I was going to do it.” He eventually moved to Walterboro SC where Stair’s church Overcomer Minisrty is located. Last year, he invited his friend  Alvin Toney to come visit him where he admitted he felt his career was cut short with Notorious B.I.G’s success. Toney said, “I think that was something that bothered him a lot. He just wished he had more time to show the world who he was. He was cut short of it.”

Toney recorded hours of interviews at his home in February of this year. He says Mack was walking around with a cane and was struggling to breathe. Pastor Stair was charged with criminal sexual conduct and criminal sexual conduct with a minor and burglary back in December. The victims claimed that Stair molested or raped them in the radio room where he records his sermons. When Toney asked Mack how he felt about this, Toney says that Mack’s response was, “He said, ‘I will forgive him because we forgave the people that killed Jesus’. At that point, he was all in.

Mack was buried on the church property. Additional details will be released in Toney’s new documentary.
