The Department of Public Service Administrator Frank Williams said, “We didn’t get enough snow in the majority of residential areas to warrant the need to plow, ” according to MyFox28Columbus.com. “We call it polishing,” Williams said. “When you polish or drop a plow on smaller amounts of snow, and coupled with lower temperatures, what you have is a polishing effect where you will have more ice than anything else.”

At this point, Williams says plowing neighborhood streets could cause slicker conditions in those areas.

Remember, when it comes to the sidewalks outside your home or business, the property owners are responsible for clearing them – not the city.
