ODOT spokesman, Matt Bruning, said, “”It’s just ridiculous. This is a problem year round and all over the state. It’s not only unsightly, it could cause safety hazards.”

According to MyFox28Columbus.com, every year the Ohio Department of Transportation spends about $4-million dollars on trash pickup. More than 400-thousand bags of trash. Over the last decade, ODOT has shelled out roughly $40-million dollars. Trash is also picked up by inmate crews and volunteers with Adopt-a-Highway programs. However, there’s a cost associated with that as well.

We can all do our part to make Ohio litter free. Does this make you think twice before throwing that litter out of your car window?
