Out with the old, in with the new!

Central Ohio is set to welcome a variety of new dining experiences in 2025. With a slew a restaurants closing their doors last year, the city will be refreshed with new options ranging from a Brazilian steakhouse to the return of familiar favorites like Logan’s Roadhouse. According to NBC4, here’s a glimpse at some of the restaurant openings coming to the 614 area this year.

Ampersand Asian Supper Club

Ampersand Asian Supper Club will open a second location in Westerville’s Uptown. The new ramen joint will be on the ground floor on 21 W. College St., behind Graeter’s Ice Cream and across from the City Hall parking lot.

Bar Italia

Bar Italia is set to debut its first Columbus location at Easton Town Center. 

Big Chicken by Shaquille O’Neal

Chicken chain, founded by Shaquille O’Neal, is expanding its footprint with plans to open over 35 restaurants across Ohio, starting in Columbus.

Del Taco

The classic tex-mex fast food restaurant Del Taco will take over the former White Castle at 8787 Owenfield Drive, between Powell and Lewis Center.

Firebirds Wood Fired Grill

Returning after over a decade, Firebirds Wood Fired Grill will open a new location at 6036 N. Hamilton Road near New Albany.

Fogo de Chão

The internationally renowned Brazilian steakhouse will open at 1425 Polaris Parkway.

Hunan Lion

After a fire in October 2023, Chinese restaurant Hunan Lion teases reopening at their 2038 Crown Plaza Drive location on social media.

Johnson’s Real Ice Cream

Celebrating its 75th anniversary, Johnson’s Real Ice Cream will open a new location at 4290 Home Road in Powell. The 1,400-square-foot space will feature indoor seating and a covered patio.

Logan’s Roadhouse

Logan’s Roadhouse is making a comeback to Columbus, opening a new restaurant in the former O’Charley’s on 1657 Stringtown Road. This marks Logan’s return after closures at Easton and Dublin.

Mastro’s Restaurant

Mastro’s will take over the former McCormick & Schmick’s spot at Easton Town Center.

RaceTrac

The Georgia-based convenience store is building a gas station along U.S. 36/State Route 37 at Davidson Lane, with construction receiving approval in August 2023.

Slim Chickens

Known for its southern-style fried chicken, Slim Chickens plans to open up to 25 locations in Columbus, Cincinnati, and Dayton over the next decade.

Smith & Wollensky

Smith & Wollensky will return to central Ohio with a new location in the Arena District at the Hyatt Regency Columbus Hotel, following the closure of its Easton Town Center venue in early 2023.
