Angie Stone looks great, sounds at the top of her game, and she’s such a f-ing lady. Who knew she had a flair for irony too? Her short-length tribute to the DJ is two fold: those same guys and girls who’ve set mood using her pillowy soft body of work (POW!) through her career are fans too. Newsflash: everyone is a “DJ” these days—so if there is some Angie Stone in your crates (physical and virtual), somehow playing it for an audience makes you the center of attention she is addressing on this cut from last year’s Unexpected. This one missed us, but anyone versed in Garageband can get to work on fitting your name in there for a dub plate.
