Radio One Founder Cathy Hughes Named Second Most Prominent Black Woman in Media

Cathy is arguably the most deserving to be on this list she would be number 1 if it wasn’t for Oprah Winfrey. She is the first black woman to own a publicly traded radio chain, Radio One, providing information and entertainment to the public. Radio One was created in order for Black America to have a voice in the national media. After the national success of Radio One Cathy founded TV One. Radio One and TV One have become media staples in the homes and cars for Black America. It often requires a lot to hold on to the investment and to keep it going. It has to be a huge demand of one’s self and time. What an amazing achievement.
