Public Health officials announced West Nile Virus has been detected in Columbus and Ohio for the first time this year.

Two pools of mosquitoes found south of the Downtown area were tested positive for the virus.

“These positive results are a reminder of the importance of taking precautions to protect ourselves from mosquito exposure,” states Dr. Mysheika LeMaile-Williams of Columbus Public Health.
