TV One rings in the holiday season this year with a host of holiday films, star-studded music specials, and Christmas-themed programming from some of TV One’s favorite sitcoms.

Saturday (Dec. 19), TV One kicks off its holiday programming at noon with “The Kid Who Loved Christmas,” a film starring birthday girl Cicely Tyson, Michael Warren, Sammy Davis Jr., and Vanessa Williams.

Then TV One keeps holiday spirit going from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. with a Holiday Sitcom Marathon consisting of Christmas-themed episodes of favorite TV One comedies including “Martin,” “All of Us,” “Eve,” “The PJs,” “Half & Half” and “Living Single.”

On Sunday (Dec. 20), TV One fills the day with the following holiday-themed programming:

Noon – 2 p.m. – The Joy of Christmas 2 – hosted by Roland Martin and featuring performances by Take 6 and Smokie Norful

2 p.m. – Santa Baby – animated Christmas special featuring the voice of Patti LaBelle

3 p.m. – Living It Up with Patti LaBelle Christmas Special

4 p.m.– Tis the Season: A Holiday Celebration – featuring Mary Mary, Brian McKnight, Kenny Lattimore, and Chante Moore

6 p.m.– Turn Up the Heat with G. Garvin Holiday Special – featuring Mo’Nique

On Monday (Dec. 21) and continuing through Christmas Eve, TV One presents a Christmas Comedy Countdown from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. each night showcasing Yuletide episodes of favorite TV One sitcoms leading up to Christmas. The countdown begins each night with Christmas episodes of “Martin” at 7 p.m. followed by “Good Times” at 7:30 p.m. The 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Christmas comedies air as follows:

Monday – “Martin”

Tuesday – “Good Times”/”Amen”

Wednesday – “The Jeffersons”

Thursday – “All of Us”

On Christmas Day, TV One offers the following holiday-themed programming:

6 a.m. –  “The Joy of Christmas 2” – the gospel music special hosted by TV One’s Roland Martin

8 a.m. – “The Kid Who Loved Christmas” – starring Cicely Tyson, Michael Warren, Sammy Davis Jr, and Vanessa Williams

10 a.m. – “Santa Baby” – animated Christmas special featuring the voice of Patti LaBelle

11 a.m. – “The Diary of The Princess and the Frog” – behind the scenes of the new Disney animated special

11:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. – Christmas-themed episodes of “Good Times,” “Martin” and “The PJs.”

4 p.m. – “Santa & Pete” – holiday film starring James Earl Jones, Flex Alexander, Tempest Bledsoe and Erica Gimpel

6 p.m. – “Roots: The Gift” – LeVar Burton and Louis Gossett,r reprise their roles as Kunta Kinte and Fiddler from the mega-hit miniseries Roots in this holiday classic.

8 p.m. – “Soul Food” – starring Vanessa L. Williams, Vivica A. Fox, and Nia Long

From midnight – 6 a.m., TV One will air Christmas episodes from “All of Us,” “Martin” and “Living Single.”

On Saturday, Dec. 26 at noon, TV One celebrates the start of Kwanzaa with the world television premiere of the award-winning documentary film “The Black Candle,” which uses Kwanzaa as a vehicle to explore and celebrate the African American experience. Narrated by Maya Angelou, the film is about the struggle and triumph of the African American family, community, and culture.
