First Lady Michelle Obama has adopted promoting healthy lifestyles for children as one of her signature causes.
Add throwing down mad beats to the job description of the First Lady.
Michelle Obama, through her “Let’s Move” campaign, will release a 19-track hip-hop album next month geared toward children and focusing on messages of eating healthy and exercising regularly.
The First Lady teamed up with a handful of big names in the music business, including Jordin Sparks, Ashanti, and DMC to record the album, which is titled “Songs for a Healthier America,” according to NBC News.

The album’s first music video was released Tuesday for a song by Jordin Sparks titled ‘Everybody.’
Obama, who does not rap or sing on the album, is releasing the collection in conjunction with her “Let’s Move” program, which she formed in 2010 to help fight childhood obesity, and the Partnership for a Healthier America, an independent group that is also working to solve the issue.
“The simple act of getting up and dancing is really a great way to be active,” Partnership for a Healthier America Chief Marketing Officer Drew Nannis told NBC. “We are bringing together music and physical activity in a way we felt more people could identify with.”

Dr. Oz and Doug E. Fresh appear in the music video for ‘Everybody.’
The organizations will release 10 music videos from the album by next summer, which will then be distributed to schools in New York and other large cities.
The first, for a song from the album sung by Jordin Sparks titled “Everybody,” was released Tuesday and features a number of other celebrities, including Doug E. Fresh and Dr. Oz.

The album also spans other genres, including pop and country, and features songs with titles like “U R What You Eat,” “Veggie Luv,” “We Like Vegetables,” and “Get Up, Sit Up.”
