*Well, the support is definitely there!
Michael Sam came out on Sunday — becoming the first openly gay NFL prospect.
And his fans are coming out as well — showing their support for him for being open about his sexuality.
And it doesn’t hurt to have someone close to the NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on his side either.
Michael Goodell, brother of the commissioner said, ”an instant hero in the gay and lesbian community” who is also openly gay.
He continued with, ”it’s about time” — referring to their finally being a top NFL prospect open about his sexuality.
Goodell goes on to call Sam a pioneer like Jackie Robinson who broke down color barriers in sports and going on to say homosexuality, ”won’t be an issue in 10 to 20 years.”
But Goodell isn’t the only fan of Sam’s. He has fellow football players… some pros on his side too.

According to the International Business Times, Sam said, “I am not afraid to tell the whole world who I am. I am Michael Sam. I am a college graduate. I am an African American and I am gay. I am comfortable in my own skin.”
