ABC 6 is getting a new face! According to their report, they hired veteran news anchor and reporter Kurt Ludlow.

“We are very happy to have someone with Kurt’s stature on our team,” commented Jamie Justice, News Director FOX 28 & ABC 6.  “He (Ludlow) brings years of experience with him, and shares in our passion to make Central Ohio a better place to live.”

Ludlow joins the largest assembled news team in Central Ohio starting Tuesday July 21st, and will anchor ABC 6 News at 5:30pm alongside Yolanda Harris and Chief Meteorologist Bill Kelly.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to once again inform and stand up for the people of Central Ohio,” remarked Ludlow.  “I look forward to building upon the tremendous success that ABC 6 News has generated, and I am anxious to get back to doing what I truly love.”

In addition, he will also serve as the station’s new advocacy investigator each night at 11pm, digging into issues and getting answers to questions that could potentially affect the entire community.

“We believe it’s important to be on the side of viewers every night,” said Justice.  “This move is a clear point of difference over our competition, and is another example of how we are changing the landscape of local news.”

Ludlow’s hire builds upon a wave of momentum for ABC 6 and its parent company Sinclair Broadcast Group.  As the operator of 162 stations in 79 markets, Sinclair remains one of the largest media companies in the country.  Sinclair continues to invest in stations like ABC 6, helping to make their product more attractive to viewers and advertisers alike.  As a result, ABC 6 has been able to increase household ratings at a consistent pace, and together with its sister-station, WTTE FOX 28, produces over 70 hours of local content a week combined; that remains the most in the market.

“I am very proud of what our stations accomplish every day,” commented Tony D’Angelo, General Manager FOX 28 & ABC 6.  “Kurt Ludlow adds to the credibility of our already established On Your Side brand, and builds on the incredible product our very talented team has worked so hard to develop.”  “There is no doubt this addition makes our team stronger and more beneficial to the viewers we serve.”
