Virginia Gubernatorial Candidate Terry McAuliffe Hosts Election Night Gathering

Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe said he will not join a handful of other states that are trying to block refugees from entering the states. It is Republicans calling for the halt of refugees from entering the states. Many of the refugees are woman and children trying to escape the perils of war. Four Republican members of the House of Delegates said they will introduce legislation at the 2016 session of the Virginia General Assembly that would impose a moratorium on taking Syrian refugees.

The governor’s office is now looking into the possibility that refugees from Syria may have to be resettled in Virginia. Governor McAuliffe’s office is in talks with federal authorities about possible locations to house Syrian refugees. McAuliffe is taken all precautions to ensure that citizens of the Commonwealth of Virginia will be safe.
