According to Fox 28, The Ohio State University announced they’ll begin a four-year, $42 million renovation of Ohio Stadium starting next year.

The project, which the athletic department will pay for, will be a blend of infrastructure and cosmetic upgrades improving some of the obstructed views in the stadium. As a result, 2,600 seats will be removed, mostly from the B-Deck area, beginning in 2018.

OSU’s seating capacity will dip to 102,854, which down form the current 104,944.

According to OSU athletic director Gene Smith, the goal is start the construction after the 2016 season where fans will see some construction during 2017 and 2018.
