Pope Francis just may be the most vocal Pope we’ve seen yet but made a huge impact with not that many words today. He met with President Donald Trump this afternoon and they exchanged gifts. The Pope gave Trump a signed copy of his 2017 peace message entitled “Nonvoilence- A Style of Politics for Peace” and a copy of another letter written in 2015 regarding climate change….yea those were the gifts #TeamPetty. Trump doesn’t believe that climate change is real and that what we do in our everyday lives effect the ozone layer. With the recent travel ban Trump has tried to put in place has cause quite a disturbance amongst equal rights groups and the Catholic church. The U.S. Catholic Church hierarchy opposes Trump’s attempt to cut federal assistance for cities that give sanctuary to illegal immigrants. It also opposes his plan to build a wall on the U.S. border with Mexico. The pope said last year a man who thinks about building walls and not bridges is “not Christian. Trump promised the pope that he wouldn’t for get their conversation about Trump becoming “as peaceful as an olive branch”.
