Reuters reports that a Baton Rouge police officer that was injured during last year’s violence in Baton Rouge, Louisiana has filed a lawsuit against Black Lives Matter’s leaders.

Gavin Long, was the man who shoots and killed three police officers and injured the one behind this lawsuit. However, BLM was quick to denounce the violent action by Long.

The lawsuit names leader DeRay McKesson and others stating “a person violently protesting against police, and which violence was caused or contributed to by the leaders of and by ‘BLACK LIVES MATTER’.” The officer is also asking for $75,000 in damages.

McKesson hasn’t responded yet to the lawsuit but as history has shown, he and other leaders have always spoken out against violence towards the police.
